Kyle The Movie: A closer look

An interview with Jeremy Parry-Ewing, the co-creator...

by Jeremy Parry-Ewing, the co-creator (kinda like an FAQ)

JPE: So, this movie is an Atomic Chicken Films production?

JPE: Yep.

JPE: Well... What the sweaty hell ("Futurama" reference) is "Atomic Chicken Films"?

JPE: Atomic Chicken Films is an indie movie production company (that I created) that no one would've heard of due to the fact that this is the first movie we've started to produce ("we" being me and Ben), the name is from my website (Atomic Chicken Cartoons) and is also Kyle's pet in the movie and the mascot for Atomic Chicken Films and Atomic Chicken Cartoons.

JPE: And what is an "atomic chicken"?

JPE: In the Kyle Movie, it is a slightly oversized chicken that has an "A" on its chest and explodes whenever it's: scared, in great pain, or if it's just plain bored.

JPE: Soooooo, it kills itself?

JPE: No, it explodes but it doesn't die, it's just the outside of the chicken that explodes and the chicken (but not anyone around it) is left unharmed.

JPE: And on a more useful subject, this movie involves aliens, do YOU believe in aliens?

JPE: Well, yes and no, I believe there is life on other planets (I mean come on, if the universe is infinite how could Earth be the only one with life on it?) but I don't think there is on any of the planets close enough to travel to Earth or that they've ever come to our planet.

JPE: Okay, so, is this movie going to be one of those really scary, disturbing "cover your eyes", "can't get that sick movie out of my head", "spooky alien abduction" type movies?

JPE: What? No, It's an animated comedy, a black comedy perhaps but who can't laugh at an FBI agent trying to fuck his gun and accidentally shooting himself in the dick or a spooky, evil clown-thingy eating a fly and then farting black fire? As for the alien abduction thing, sure the aliens ARE trying to invade Earth but they're also meant to be funny

JPE: uh-huh, and on the subject of funny what's the deal with the two aliens, Nick and Nicksclofulbluff?

JPE: Well, Nick and Nicksclofulbluff are brothers, Nick is named after our friend Nick Bendesy who, at this point in time, is doing the voices for both Nick and Nicksclofulbluff, Nicksclofulbluff is the one that only speaks gibberish and is completely incompetent.

JPE: And is Nicksclofulbluff named after anyone?

JPE: Amazingly yes! Whenever Nick used to go crazy and do random, crazy, funny things we'd say it was his mutated clone-brother-thingy, Nicksclofulbluff and some of the noises he makes in the movie are based on some of noises Nick used to make.

JPE: ok... Cool, so, can we expect to see this movie in cinemas?

JPE: I did mention the "indie" thing, didn't I? It's a Direct To DVD movie that will be available on the website once its done.

JPE: Yes how silly of me, Kyle: The Movie has 3D animation in it, right?

JPE: Right.

JPE: And this is the first time any of your animations have had 3D animation, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight?

JPE: You want me to talk about the 3D animation don't you?

JPE: Yes I do.

JPE: Fine, the movie has 3D animation in it which was hard at first because when we animated the first little bit to the movie with 3D (The "Kyle the movie" text, Kyle's house and such) I had only just got the 3D program (Swift 3D) not long before, so I hadn't really used it that much yet so it was a bit hard...

JPE: ok then, estimated rease date?

JPE: Well I'm hoping sometime during 2009 or 2010 (2010 is the most likely release year... It's also when I finally get out of high school)

JPE: ... cool, what about Kyle?

JPE: What about him?

JPE: well, he's based on Ben Hart (co-creator)'s cousin isn't he?

JPE: Yes but a twelve year old, quite different version of him.

JPE: What about the reccuring theme of child abuse? isn't that a little offensive?

JPE: Not at all.

JPE: And why's that?

JPE: Because Kyle's mother is only doing it because of the little nightmare clown that's always telling her that she needs to toughen him up so he'll be okay.

JPE: So she's insane, isn't that still a little offenesive?

JPE: No because she's not insane the nightmare clown is actually real, in fact right at the end it grows to be regular human size and threatens their very existence, will they live?

JPE: I see... Next question: what's going to become of Kyle after the movie?

JPE: Well, we may be going to make a series of Kyle, but a real series with plots and whatnot unlike the old shorts which were just Kyle doing something that his mother would find violent and then she'd kill him, but if we make a series it will have actuall story lines, multiple part episodes, story arcs, continuity and such and hey, there may even be room for a sequel...

JPE: Nice... What about the characters, what new ones will we be intrduced to?

JPE: Well, we get to see Tim's mouth and it's missing gums (see Tim's character description on the website), Tim's mother and Uncle, (the uncle who gets shot in the head) the aliens (Nick, Nicksclofulbluff, Sclom and some that attack earth and get foiled at the start.) And of course Jake and his parents. (believe it or not, Jake is actually named after Jake Albert who does the voice of Jake! *GASP* SHOCK!) Plus a whole lot of other randoms.

JPE: Wow... What Atomic Chicken Films, what does the future hold for Jeremy Parry-Ewing, Ben Hart and the Atomic Chicken?

JPE: Hopefully more movies and more people coming to the Atomic Chicken Cartoons site and maybe one day an actual professional feature film.

JPE: Well I (meaning you) look forward to it and good luck on the Kyle Movie
